Hi there! My name is Alex, I come from a digital marketing background and started working with software UX (User experience) and UI (User Interface) design a number of years ago, here’s my take on coding. Firstly, I work closely with the development team to help them create new and exciting features for future versions of locality’s software.
Push your designs to the limit of what’s possible…
Over the years, throughout many projects I have found that having a base knowledge of HTML, CSS, jQuery and commonly associated frameworks has helped me push my designs to the limit of what is possible. I have also been able to open up stronger channels of communication between myself and developers due to a mutual understanding of the technology involved which in turn enables us as a group to deliver highly functional, intuitive and feature rich products on a tight schedule.
Advice I would give a designer looking to get into Coding? Any designer looking to brush up on their coding skills should definitely check out Codecademy and also the beautifully presented “HTML & CSS: Design and Build Web Sites” by Jon Duckett.
What better time to start than National Coding Week!
